Is that a good option, or would you suggest another product? Side question: I also have a lot of photo negatives I want to convert too. How would I go to convert these MiniDV tapes? I need to work with FireWire, but this doesn't connect to my Mac obviously. To digitalise MiniDV, it seems a bit more complicated. Is this understanding correct? When searching Amazon there are so many of these 'convert'-tools, but have no idea which is the one I need. My Mac needs to have software that can live-record the video that's being played and incoming through the USB ports This player should be connected to my Mac with some kind converter between it (Component Video -> USB (C) ?) I have to play a VHS tape with the player How would I go about this? I've been Googling for hours, and there's so much information. I don't know the state they're currently in, but want to try to digitalise as much of them as I can. I know I should have done this way earlier (they're old, I estimate most of them between 20-25 years old), but that unfortunately didn't happen. I have a lot of old VHS tapes and MiniDV tapes (the ones used in video camera's) that contain really valuable memories.
